Dendrochronologist’s Dilemma, 2013

[Materials and Dimensions]

“Dendrochronologist’s Dilemma” is an interactive video installation that involves the viewer ‘touching’ an image of a cross section of a tree (showing the rings) and triggering projections of shadowy video images to appear on a wall beyond the tree rings. The work references dendrochronology (the study of tree rings) and suggests a more ephemeral read of what may be recorded (and forgotten) in each tree ring.
